OK, so I installed a permacool remote tranny filter with a gauge last night. The filter works fine but I have no idea how to wire the gauge up. The fuse box under the dash has the cover missing, and there are no fuses under the hood. Where would I slice these wires into? Call me stupid. I tried the search function for quite awhile, too, by the way. Any help would be appreciated.

iirc the should be one wire from the sending unit that goes to the gauge, a ground wire that you can attach anywhere to the chassis, and a power wire, look on the fuse box for a key on only power and tie it into there, now if you have a light in the gauge you will also need to ground the bulb and tap the power wire into a light source on the dash, that why when you dim the dash lights the gauge will dim to.

Quick check of the Haynes shows the '87-'89 wiring purdy much matches the '90-'91 fuse panel wise, so heres a pic of my '88's fuse cover to help you pick a circuit to tap to.
