Here are the pictures of my gear mesh. 8.8 rear getting 4.56 gears. First timer looks like the Drive side is high and towards the heel, coast side high and towards the toe.

Please someone that has done this let me see the light.

second try

reduced the backlash by .001 now it is .009

increased the pinion shim .008 now .038

seems to me that drive side is a little to the toe, depth about right?
coastside is a little to the toe, depth about right?
both may be a little high, but input from others would be great.

Did you look at the diagram in my 8.8" Axle album?
Yes and I am using the diagram of acceptable patterns as a guide, just wanted some input.

when it is flat like this towards the root is it to low? It just does not look that low to me. I guess I expected low to go much closer to the root. Am I fighting a loosing battle trying to get an oval pattern that low?

Lots of looks, would this thread get more input in another section? This truck is a daily driver, so I would liek to get the best results possible.
