Good morning all. I'm in the Air Force and currently stationed in Grand Forks, North Dakota....YUCK!!! I'm hoping I will have an assignment outta here around January. I'm originally from NC and I really need to get back to my southern roots. The wife and I were looking at moving to Warner Robins, Ga. I was just woundering if anybody is from around that area or has ever been there. My Dad does allot of work there and says its a nice area. I just want to get a local persons opinion on the area. Things like jobs, cost of living, housing, schools, things to do for fun, and most important how's the 4 wheelin. Also I'm a huge NASCAR fan so I will not have a problem finding anything to do. Thanks for any info yall might have.

I lived there about 15 years ago, and it was ok, but like everything else I'm sure it's changed alot since then. Right now I live south of there by quite a few miles...I live in Tifton.:thumbup

I live in Lawrenceville, GA, just north of Atlanta... I can't say I know much about Warner Robins other than I've heard it's a nice place, has decent schools, and the cost of living isn't as high as it is in the Atlanta surburban areas... The North GA mountains aren't all that far of a drive if you like camping and other outdoor recreational fun... I go up there quite a few weekends a year to camp or canoe/kayak or to splash around in some mud with a friend and his Jeep... Part of the reason I'm wanting a Bronco again... Mustangs are great cars, but the mountains are no place for them... :D

Warner-Robins is spiffy. I drive through there all the time. I wont put in a shameless plug for my favourite Waffle House.. but anywho. WR is a nice area. As an alternative, Moody AFB is in Valdosta. Slightly larger city to play in.

I did my time with the USAF... wanted to stay somewhere in the southeast myself. I kinda did..they kept me at Lackland doing computer work. :\
