We had two interesting and totally conflicting votes on gun control issues.
I-591: would prohibit government agencies from confiscating guns or other firearms from citizens without due process, or from requiring background checks on firearm recipients unless a uniform national standard is required.
I-594: would close the "gun-show loophole" and require background checks on all gun sales in the state, including private party sales.
I hate that the mid-terms get no real attention, so that's when they slip crap like this in.
Obviously I voted for 591 and against 594, but Seattle carries so much weight in our elections it's almost impossible for the rest of the state to have any weight against the two counties in that area. Doesn't help we just had some stupid kid in Marysville that walked into his H.S. and shot 4 fellow students before turning the gun on himself.
Washington is such a mess.
Anyway... VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!!!
Don't let a minority of people who pay attention run your life! Get out there and VOTE.
If nothing else, it gives you the right to bitch when they screw you over. :brwonbag
