Even though I didn't care for Pete much in the end, he had been a long time friend. Word is that he died from an Aneurysm at his office during the work day, today. No idea on funeral arrangements, I'm hearing this second hand from someone Pete & I were mutually acquainted with, His son Steven hasn't called me yet, and I doubt he will.

Anyway, I figured you guys would like to know.

Oh man that sucks, what a shitty way to go, no warning.

My condolences to his family.

Yeah, and I have a really bad temper; I need to do something about it before I go in that way.

Wow that sucks. Never really talked to him much but I think he was a lawyer? I'm sure that can be a lot of stress on one?

No shit? Well that's ****ed up. I was sad when he pulled out... but was going through my own BS around that time and never got to talk with him about it. We shared a few PM's and good banter. I generally enjoyed him and despite my general feelings towards lawyers, I always figured he had to be one of the good ones.

Damn. Thanks for the info James. I didn't realize you two had been close.
RIP PETE... you were already missed.

I'm sorry he's gone, but I can tell you from watching several people go slowly & 1 go quickly that quick is FAR better. I hope I get that lucky.
Truer words were never spoken Steve

Still it takes the ones you leave behind a while to realize that (it did for me and mine anyway).

Sorry to hear our outspoken friend bought the farm.

It's been so long since I conversed with him I'm still trying to place him, though I did remember him and his handle.

Hope you're wheeling in a better place Ghostrider:beer

Seemed like the guy was one of the originals around here. Sorry to see any of us go...RIP Pete/GHOSTRIDER. Looked up some of his old post and it seemed like he had some heart and lung problems back in '12. To bad we don't get to choose the way we go out, just the way we live and treat people.

we were...... Pete was the attorney I hired in the Bronco's wreck case. He dropped my case, attempting to cite that I had failed to communicate directly with the insurance company of the defendant, and that I failed to gather information from them..... He did all of this, without telling me to get said information, after I signed a 60/40 split (in his favor) contract/retainer with him. Needless to say, our friendship promptly ended.

Before said case, Pete and I were indeed good friends. He was a cool dude at one time.

Ah... I seem to recall a little about that, now that you mention it. Mixing Business & Friendship can often go go sideways.
Sorry it went that way for you two. Still... just as a person to BS with, I always enjoyed Pete.

Sorry to hear about Pete. He was always one of the guys I really enjoyed around here back in the early days.

I agree and I hope I go quickly too. The only problem with that is friends and family will find things I left out at the house that I didn't want anyone to see. I'll be dead then so I guess it won't matter.

Great point MikE2

but like you say, it won't matter. Maybe someone will invent a hard drive to store my porn on, that disintegrates if it isn't accessed for say 10 days ?

Got one my buddy told me for you Mike

"I want to die peacefully, like my Granpa, not screaming like his passengers".

I think Pete would have liked that one. Here's to you again Pete:beer

I was strolling down memory lane... when I ran across this. I only took the relevant part, but it was appropriate here, imho.

When down in the south we say "See you sumbitches later!" as we leave a meeting with a bunch of close friends...
See you later... sumbitch! :beer
