Couple days ago i went to the junk yard and picked up an G3 Alternator with harness out of a 92 ford taurus. yesteday i swapped pullys and today i installed it with new 4 guage cables along with a mega fuse. Very simple to set up. did couple tests too. seems like i get a constant 14.8volts at the battery and i havent seen it hit over 15volt under load or reving. so i think its working fine???

with all my lights on, fan at full blast and radio blasting the volts dropped to 14.5 :thumbup . with the old 65amp alternator set up...the battery was dying haha.

my 65amp alt next to my 130amp G3

G3 sitting in the original alternator brackets

i saw them at Waytek's web site so i had an idea what to look for but wasnt able to find it. i also went to napa and they didnt have anything but a re-setable 150amp fuse.
that resetable might have been nice. nice install

yeah but i didnt want to put money down onto a fuse that only handles 150amps when i might upgrade to higher output alternator in the future.
I've got the stuff on my web site for the 3G

Probably the best products in the world :D
my fuse is better then ur fuse...mines gold plated :brownbag
:histerica so you can sell it back when it blows :shrug :histerica
Nice work Chris

How many threads did you get the nut onto the shaft with that double pulley ?

I had to counter bore the center of the pulley almost a 1/4" to get the nut to go further on the shaft, than 5 or 6 threads.

Didn't get around to it for almost a year and the nut never came off. It was just one of those reliabilty questions that kept nagging me until I did it.
none, i still have couple threads showing. looks almost factory. i did use a slightly thinner washer to space the pully out to align with the rest of the pullys. the factory washer was too thick and would push the pully in too far and if i removed the washer it would sit out too much. other then that the threads still looks fine.
