Well I been workin on gettin another set of wheels for a while now and finally bit the bullet.I couldn't afford a Super Duty like I wanted but did find myself a good car, that will hold my family of 5 comfortably.
It's an 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis,with 58,000 miles.
So what ya'll think??

With the girls, they are both over 5'7",a Taurus just didn't have the room.I'm 6'2" and I fit comfortably back there.

I used to get 4 easy in my crown vic.

But you have to buy the short-handled shovels... :toothless

And nice ride. But now expect EVERYONE to slow down when you tailgate them. My old CV was frustrating to drive if I had my Fire Dept rotator on the dash. As soon as someone would see me coming, BAM - 15 below the limit for the next ten miles. :banghead

First v-8 I have had since my truck everything else has been a v-6.Theres a really cool site dedicated to the Crown Vic's,and the Grands. The mods for these are many.I already noticed the slow-down factor fortunately its been on the 4 lane and I just buzz by them.
Thanks for the comments.

Alright Bill !

way to score a panther platform !!!!!

Welcome to the world of panthers. Great gas mileage, tons of room and decent used prices. Here's some great sites for you to join (free or I wouldn't be there). Yes they're for Lincolns but the engines and platforms are the same;

I'll tell you Bill

when Katrina went nuts on gas prices last year I put the Bronco on weekend duty and started driving the Lincoln Town car and what a difference in gas mileage !

I also found with that cavernous trunk it was the perfect vehicle to ween me off all that cargo room the Bronco had, without getting withdrawls.

I did all the mileage mods to it's 5.0 litre that I'd done to the Bronco and now I'm getting better mileage than a lot of my buddies with mid sized sedans.

I guess none of my Mopar buddies will hear me on here, when I say I'm lovin' these fuel injected 5.0 litres

Enjoy your 4.6 Bill and thanks for buying North American instead of Nipponese.

It is the 4.6 all.I am lovin it so far and its got my Explorer beat in the gas mileage department. My wife is now drivin the Explorer full time.W filled up at the same time and I still have more gas than her.Its no 30 mpg car but way better than the 15-18 mpg I get with the Explorer.
And yess it does smoke the tires relatively easily.
I found crown vic.net already, now I got somemore places to visit.
Thanx sixlitre:beer

nice ride...ive actually wanted to get a crown vic or something like that. Nice cars...all you need is a little(like 1ft) cb antenna on the trunk...then you will really get the brake checks when around cars
