Greetings from new Bronco owner. I'll apologize up front for any newbie questions that I might post, but my previous experience has been with Jeeps, and this is my first Bronco - 90 XLT with 5.0, Auto, and 32 in tires.

I already swapped out the engine :cry and I have enough other repair/restoration items on the list to keep me busy for a couple of years :banghead , so all help and advice will be greatly appreciated.

Happy New Year to everybody and I look forward to talking with and meeting you.

Regards,

Jeff

Don't worry about asking questions, we love this shit!! Thats why we're here.
This should help you around the site:

A few things to know:
1. Make sure to vote for FOTM each month by going to the FOTM thread and picking your fav. nominee! (10 new nominees each month, and someday it could be you!)
2. Be sure to vote for this site at TOP4x4 by clicking the link at the top of the page once a day. (It brings us in alot of new traffic!)
3. Post up some pics of your rig!
(click here—>click me, click me!! to find out how!)
4. Add your rig's specs (or a pic) to your sig line. (It comes in handy, when asking questions, for people to know what kinda rig their helping you with!)
5. Before asking a handful of questions please try the search button at the top right hand corner of the page.
It looks like this:
This site has been around long enough that ALOT of topics have already been discussed and now all you gotta do is read.

Again, welcome aboard, make your self at home!!!:thumbup

I created a profile at superford and I'll try get some photos of my nightmare posted tomorrow. I originally bought the truck with the idea that it would be a good way for me and my younger son (13) to spend some time together. I guess that dream overrode common sense and made me not realize all the problems with the rig.

I have already replaced the engine and serviced the tranny. We spent most of the last couple days pulling out nasty carpeting and padding and removing almost all of the interior stuff. I guess somebody before me must have used it in the beach a lot as I found sand in every nook and cranny. That could help explain all the nasty rust I have been finding as well.

Needless to say, a big part of me questions the sanity of trying to restore this monster. Is it just me feeling overwhelmed here, or is this a common feeling after purchasing a 14 year old Bronco that needs lots of help?

Thanks for the warm welcome and I look forward to talking with everybody. I am sure that I am going to have plenaty more questions and need quite a bit of assistance if I am going to see this through.

Regards,

Jeff

Welcome to FSB. :beer Nice to see another "local" on the board.
Great to hear from owners near me, or at least close compared to Texas or something like that.

I am not sure when my rig will be up for a trail run or anything more adventurous than another trip to the garage. But, if there are any gatherings in our area, I would be interested in coming by to meet some folks and perhaps get some suggestions and input on my ever growing to do list on this monster.

Jeff
