Well, just some bakground on what I've been doing today...I was working on the PS pump, trying to stop the leak. Found 2 bad O-rings, replaced those and installed a new belt. Still trying to get all the air out...blah. Anyhow, it's back to running and driving status when I'm about to shut the hood, I hear a faint "grinding" type noise coming from the engine....I can hear it up top and feel it through the dizzy when I put my hand on it...I wondering if when I was driving w/o power assist that I might have put too much stress on the pump, over-tightened the belt and maybe the water pump is going bad? Or else, the timing chain? It' s a weird faint grinding noise, and it doesn't seem right. Any ideas?

remove all your belts and run the engine for a short period.

If it is an accessory it will not be making any noise, if it is internal to the engine you will still hear it.
