I have a tinking noise coming from the engine. The lifters, valves, and push rods are all good. I'm thinking either the crankshaft bearings are going out or it might be the dampner. You can see an obvious wobble on the dampner. How do i find out which dampner to get, there are a few different to choose from. External balance and Internal balance and a couple of different weights. I would really appreciate the advice. Whatever my problem is it keeps causing my timing cover seal on the crank to keep wearing out and I am dumping oil after about a week of replacing it.

Main bearings don't "tink", they thud, real deep sound. Your balancer sounds like it's bad, but they don't make noise. Just order the balancer you need for your engine and year, it's all in the parts books.

High pitched noises not related to valve train are often exhaust leaks. Check your manifolds for cracks and loose bolts. Check the head pipes for the same thing.
