I was bummed today when I found out that I couldn't get a carbon fiber rear driveshaft. I just wanted to get away from all the noise and vibration that my driveshaft is causing.

I know that there is play in my u joints and yokes, but I don't know how out of balance the drive shaft might be as well.

Has anyone taken their's in to get it repaired and or balanced?

I need to do this soon, because I understand that it could cause problems to the transfer case or rear end.

I took mine in to get extended an inch and a half when I installed my lift, I had all the ujoints replaced and cardian joint*sp* replaced to. I had them balanced it also.

Driveshaft shop less than $100 to replace all u-joints and double cardan joint. Would have done myself but didn't know if the pin on DC was fubar or not (it wasn't). If it had been then it would have cost me ~$140 cause the old one would have had to been cut off and a new one welded on and the ds rebalanced.

I converted to a CV joint,
apparently it hits alot better angles
and obviously they balanced it
