Hola Amigos,

My name is Ed. I work and live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, and soon I'll be the proud new owner of an 86 Bronco - woo hoo! I don't know much about Broncos or Fords in general other than the info I've read on this forum, which is plenty and very interesting. I know I'll have fun learning as much as I can, but please forgive my newbyness for now.

Right now it's in pretty sad shape, but I hope to fix it up and have it wheeling soon. It has a 302/AOD combo, D44 front and 8.8 rear. The engine and tranny both need to be rebuilt. It has a 2" body lift, but I'm wondering if I should remove it and get fiberglass - any thoughts or opinions on that?

Hopefully I can get pics of it as it looks now, and as time goes on I hope to have pics of what I hope will soon be a well-built rig.

Take care,

Ed Q.

welocme!

What do want to fiberglass? The rear 1/4 panels in fg are very $; as well the tail gate as compared to aftermarket steel panels.
Good luck on the rebuild!

Thanks for the welcome and advice, fellas. I bought it for $500, so I think I'll scratch the fiberglass idea if it's too $$ and maybe go with the sawzall.

Rather than doing a search on a specific issue, I've rather enjoyed going through many of the old threads trying to soak up tidbits of all the excellent info on here. But I'll be sure to do a search on a specific question if one arises.

Take care,

Thanks a bunch, Miesk5, for those links. Looks like it's quite a bit of work to replace the rear 1/4's. If and when I ever get the money, I may just let a body shop do the work for me. For now, my main priority is to get it running!
