Hey everyone, i have an 84 bronco, and i snapped the parking pin while decending a steep hill in reverse....don't ask.

Anyways i have an extra tranny and i was just wondering if anyone could tell me how to swap parking pins?

Its a pawl and I'm sure you can, but how hard it would be, I don't know. If you have another transmission, it would probably be easier, but again, never done it, so I dont know..

Isn't the pawl buried deep in the trans?
I think it would probably be easier to fix the parking brake cables than to worry about it (who still has working ones anyways? ).

mine are bradny newy
and yes most parking pawls are close to the tailhousing of the trans
would not be a very easy thing to get to.

It's as deep as you can get. Might as well rebiuld the tranny if you want to change it.

Yeah i think i am just going to leafe it for now and swap trannys later. thanks for all the input
