Okay, I know some of you are going to flame me for being so half-assed about this.

In Maryland, you can't pass inspection with rust holes in the body of a vehicle. I just bought this Bronco, and I don't want to put tons of work into it, only to have it die in a week.

That being said, here is what my tailgate started out like. Note the hole in the middle.



The first thing I did was brush on a bunch of Rust Converter. It converts the flakey brown rust into a stronger black primer.

I didn't think to take a pic of the converter, but here are the results of what I did after the primer hardened:












So, what do you all think?

Whatever it takes! :thumbup Personally, I think it's a bit much to fail a vehicle for being rusty in an area KNOWN for rust, but as long as it works, right?

they can fail you for a rusty vechicle. that is retarded. what if you cant afford to fix the rust or get a new car?
