Every time I go to use my tools after wheeling I get pissed. My wrenches aren't a problem because I have a bag that rolls up and ties.

My biggest problem is my sockets. I have 6 rails of sockets that after a dag in my tool bag they are all loose and messed up. I even tried to tape the sockets to the rails but that sucked too.

What do you guys do to keep your tools in order? :shrug

I plan On buying

A tool set that come in its own folding case..
I have one at work. Its probably no more than 3"s thinck Its probably the size of 2 bronco driver magazines next to each other ( side by each )
It snaps closed & open up like a 2 door fridge.
There are many different tool combos around out there by many makers.
yes they only carry the tool they come with but some of the sets are prttey good.
Sockets, screw drivers , allens, hack saws, wire cutters etc etc etc.... :clap
I like those because they are small in size & self contained..
Right now I use a old igloo type of cooler to hold them all.
dont have a tool box. :shrug

why not get some canvas and roll the rails up and have several ties on it like the wrench roll ups?

its is like 15 bucks for two or three sheets at sears but that is the best kind to get, dont cheap out and go to the fabric store, oil resistant and stuff will stay in place

Never had a problem with the sockets. I bolted the rails to a drawer in my three drawer tool box. Only works for standard depth, but I don't carry deeps on the trail, too heavy and unnecessary. Keep the box secure and the sockets never move. I've got one rail each 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2. The 4 deeps I do carry fit my wheels (different sizes front & rear), my u-bolts and something else I can't remember.... they're bolted under the hood with all-thread (all-thread rocks LOL).
