Can someone explain how to safely relieve the pressure of the AC coolant lines on a 96 f150 before disassembly?

Not that I'm going to reccoment doing this because I don't but it can be done by disconnecting the line at the dryer with a bunch of rags handy and wrapped around the line. Take a deep breath too and all the crap is going to make a film on the underside of your hood. Again, your better off taking it to a shop, referigerant is bad for the atmosphere.

Can't bring the truck to a shop, that's no longer an option. I'm parting out the truck and it's already in pieces, need a way to do this myself.

I'll be going the route of removing the system without opening the hoses to take to a shop for discharge. Thanks everyone for your input, it's been very informative and helpful!
