This is the rust i'm dealing with on my 88. It's pretty much like this on both sides. The other side pretty much looks the same. I've searched the articles on fender flares but i'd like some honest opinions. I'm not out to make it beautiful but i'm not looking to lose the entire fender to rust. Thanks. do a search for trimming fenders. unless you want to get new rear panels. i would just trim that shit off.

Is trimming it going to make it look funny since i'm taking inches off of the fender. I have no lift and it has 31/10.50's on it. Do i need to install something (a fender flare) to give me back the inches i lost from the trimming?

If I was you I would buy a set of these.........have them welded in....take care of any other rust spots in the area....then have it painted.

I got to be in just the right mood to like the way a set of flairs look on a FSB.....sometimes I like it....sometimes I dont.

Thanks for the adive. I think i'm going to go with the cutouts. They are pretty cheap and i would like to keep it looking original. Now i just have to find a good welder and see if he can cut a straight line.

I had a Blazer that looked like that, I just got out the jig saw and in a short time it looked better.
