he didn't say slant 6, he said straight 6. they made 300 straight sixes which are 4.9L and if you figure out the 302 displacement in CC its actually a 4.9L too. guess it would be hard to justify paying extra for a motor the same size but with 2 more cylinders so ford rounded up on that one....

Well, that brings up another "misspeak". Ford does make a straight six. But I think you could change the title to the thread if you edit your first post. Maybe to something like "Found a great deal in Missouri" or "'91 F150 I6 for $1000"....? :shrug

A .030" overbore would make that 300 a 302, IIRC. I'd do the math, but don't remember the stroke figures.

Yup, my G-Father had like a '65 Valient with pushbutton tranny in near mint condition with a slant6, it was a beast of a 6 banger engine! :thumbup Soma-bitch would light up the tires, and this was a stock '65 engine! :toothless

My friend has a 70 valiant I believe with a slant 6. 200+k on it and it won't die.
