ok guys so i was laying around thinking about god knows what and i had an idea pop into my head for rust control on the BKO.

a sacrificial metal connected to the inner rear fenders and tailgate.

they use this technique on ships all the time. its normally zinc.

anyone got some input? im thinking about using a paint/primer rich in zinc to protect it. it will have the same effect.

Wishful thinking, but zincs and sacrificial metals work with electricity and the movement of electrons as the metal corrodes... and the circuit has to be completed. Saltwater does this for outboards, but you don't have anything completing the circuit on a vehicle. at least if it's not in the ocean.

Not sure about the zinc primer, maybe someone can chime in on that...

We use this for some of our storage tanks but they are submerged in a saltwater bath to get it to work.
