Hi my name is Amy,
I inherited a 1989 Bronco XLT from my mom's husband. His dream was to get it fixed up. I used to have a 1979 Bronco about 30 years ago. I would always ask him to sell it to me! He recently passed away and my mom gave it to me. I think it's going to need a lot of work. So I'm here to learn more about what it would take.

I envision it being lifted a little with larger tires and different wheels and maybe a new paint job. I would primarily drive it around town as a fun vehicle, probably not overland. It has less than 100k miles.

89s are great Broncos. Bricknose era seems to be the easiest to work on in my opinion. I always tell people, step 1 is to clean everything. Even if it isn't running clean the engine, clean the belly, clean the carpet. Cleaning it you'll find what needs to be fixed up.

Welcome. It looks pretty clean and stock, which is a great starting point. How long has it been sitting? Which engine, 5.0 or 5.8? Be carefull with bigger tires, much bigger than stock turns an already mediocre powerplant into a turd without regearing.

Welcome to FSB and congrats on the 89!

I agree with going with different wheels. Good advice above on not going too big on tires unless you plan on regearing.

Welcome! Those chrome steel wheels are actually probably the rarest wheel on a bronco from the 92-96 era. And yes, i said 92-96; those are not the '89 factory wheels. More specifically, they are from a 92-94 as in 95, the center caps went from red to black.

It's been sitting about 2 years and sat a lot before that. I'm not sure which engine actually.

Like, clean with a pressure washer?

Oh, interesting!
Yep. The wheels arent that rare but certainly moreso than the 10 hole aluminum wheels.

Clean the exterior with pressure washer or car wash. Carpet can be done the same way if you remove it from the bronco. Engine can alwo be done with the pressure washer but tape a small heavy duty bag over the distributor so water doesnt get inside.
