i wanted to have a base for the 60" hi-lift so i made this one out of scrap. oh & i dont want to hear it about the welds.

i tack welded a wingnut to a spacer i found at the hardware store

& now it stands up by itself & thats not easy on a 60"

its not really a critical weld, i didnt feel like being extra careful so i just rammed the rod up against the angle & moved it slowly. it was during the time i wristed my arm & i was just keeping busy. it was an idea i had in my head ever since i saw the $40 base they offer from hi-lift

i stuck my rod in the crack & moved it around the edges

really it was more like i was caulking a gap than really welding. my back was kinda sore so i didnt even bend over.

i like the way you made that man, my dad always gets mad when his jack falls over cuz its too tall so i might have to show him this... i just bought a bronco today for myself.
