you need to buy new it is more cost effecient in the long run, no telling on how the truck or car they came from was driven, because it could only hold up for 1000 mile and it sheers and your back to square one

The used gears if they've been used very long will have a certain wear pattern built into them from their last setup. You can never really reset them to the same pattern again.
