I finally got a chance to set the motor and trans on the perch's today and it sits in there like it was made for it! I think I might be able to use the M's radiator hose's too, that big ass radiator wont have any problem's keeping that motor cool! SWEEEET!:chili:

I tried that and it made'em smaller, I'll jack with it later when my pateint's level come's back up! ya know what I'm sayin Brother! (insert hogans voice there LOL) I'm a real puter tard and its a $20 digital from rite aid but it has been workin just fine? well gotta git the rains lettin up se se see yaaaa!
351w with a blower. my take is he has the smaller cubes and if he can stay outta the go pedal he will have get decent millage. but if needed he has the power of a big block with the blower on there.

best of both worlds.
Yea well its that stayin outta the go pedal that I have a problem with! lets not forget the go-go juice in the bottel! but seriously when this thing is done I am going to take it easy on her for awhile so I can take a break and consintrate on other things and not have to fix my truck
Everyone on this board dogged on me for my engine swapp when I asked for some advice.

I put a '93 efi 5.0 from a Mustang in my '79. It has made an excellent DD, for me ever since.

I used the stock frame mounted 351M/400 engine pedistals. I bought new rubber engine mounts for a 302 for a '79 2wd F-150. It dropped right in & looked like it belonged there. I used BBK shorty headers from the car.

I plan on building a 351 roller block I have eventually. Prolly strooke it while I am at it.

Good luck w/ the swap.
I got alot of flack too! I even went out and bought a 460 that needed a rebuild? then I realized I was letting everyone elses opinion dictate what I was doing ? sold the 460 and I'm doing it my way, but the information that I have gotten off of this board is priceless , I love this place
Hey Boz, got any pictures of your rig? what did you end up doing with your trans?
I swapped C6 cases, put in a mild shift kit, & used a flexplate from a '92 302 parts bronco I had. I used quite a few parts from it. Fuel tank, fuel lines, fuel rails.

I looked for some pics & this is the only decent one I have on this computer.

I'll see if I can't get you a couple of pics today. If you need any other info, just let me know.
Wow, look at the clearance between the heater box and head. No problem changing plugs on that one! Super job Boz.

My hat's off to all you guys that install EFI engines in these old Broncos. Takes lots of work and engineering skill.....
mine is a naturally asspirated 351w ( carb ) with a blower and nitrous, its just good to know that others put the windsor in the 78-79 because all you hear is Big Block! screamed everytime you mention changing the motor in one of these
I see nothing wrong with doing a small block swap. Gave it a lot of thought and went with the EFI 460 for my wifes rig, just ended up getting a better deal on it than I could on a small block at the time.

I can not wait to see how yours runs with that supercharger and nitrous. My dream was a stroked 351w, SEFI injection, and a Vortech.

Keep the pics coming and get back in that garage!
this is how the 400 should have been from ole Henry.

I'm thinking it should run preety good also, but I dont have a turbo, its a old McCulloch supercharger, its the original Paxton, McCulloch first came out with them and Paxton bought them out, ( if I remember correctly? ) then McCulloch went on to make chain saws

is that a throttle body ignition system jopes?

Yeah that was a typo on my part. Sorry about that.

That would be a full on custom conversion of a mass air, sequential electronic fuel injection(SEFI) system Jopes put together. If the videos are any proof it runs like a raped ape!
the SEFI is based off of a 89 mass air mustang. removed all unneeded sensors in the harness and re wrapped it.

90mm mass air meter from a 01 lightning
70mm throttle body from a 97 ish crown vic
30 lb FMS injectors
Dizzy is part 460 EFI and part 5.0.
tweecer RT to tune it all.

yeah it runs ok. :toothless
