For the last few days the truck has been doing somehting that it has not been doing before. Normally when I start it cold it idles at like 1200 RPM's for 10 - 20 seconds and then drops down to the normal 800 - 1000 RPM's.

Now when I start it cold the RPM's go to 1200 for like 3-4 seconds then it jumps up to like 2000 RPM's. It stays there for like 20 - 30 seconds, almost sounds like it is going to stalla as it jumps back down and catches itself at 1200 and then it evens off to the normal 800 - 1000.

Then it runs totally fine and normal. When I start it warm it acts 100% normal.

What could be causing this strange high jump in the RPM's?

Clean your IAC. Just a note, when it is warmed up, your truck should be idling at, I believe 750 RPM.

there is a write up on it in the tech section, complete with pics.
