After my plugs and wires, I find the engine is trying to idle in the 700 rpm area. When it is up to 900-1000, it idles very smoothly. When it drops into the 600-700 it becomes rougher. More like it is being retarded or held back than it is missing or any other issue.

What should I be checking to get the idle speed up? On this 5.8L model, is there a manual adjustment, or should the computer be picking this up? Is this a timing issue?
