My trusty '79 has let me down today... as I couldn't get it to fire up at all. One thing's for sure, though... that truck will never leave me stranded. It stumbled and made its way home safely before dying 100%.

It's a rebuilt 400 that runs awesome, Edelbrock 600cfcm carb, Mallory Unilite dizzy that was recently converted back to stock ignition instead of Mallory Hyfire. The Hyfire failed about 5-6 months ago and it runs fine without it anyway. I'm getting no spark to plugs and I tested the negative terminal of the coil with the ignition in the ON position - I got 2V or less. From what I understand, it should be 12V. Does this indicate that the stock Ford ignition module has bit the dust? Please help shed some insight. Thanks

The coil could also be fried....I had that happen to me once before. I would replace both.
