Got this PM tonight...

Hey man, I am trying to find a thread that I think you started on a header install. I can find links but when I click on them, it gives me an error. Did the thread get deleted or something? I remember it having killer info on the little tricks and tips!
google searched the site, got a few references to the thread and every one I try is giving the same results.

thread in question: "Installing SUMMIT Shorty Headers on a 1989 Ford Bronco"

google site search result page:
https://www.fullsizebronco.com/forum/gtsearch.php?q=summit shorty headers

error resulting from each attempt to access the thread:
"Invalid Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator"

I see it on the wayback machine for Aug 24, 2017, so it was still around then. No pics in it. https://web.archive.org/web/20170824073016/https://www.fullsizebronco.com/forum/23-technical-write-ups/1620-installing-summit-shorty-headers-1989-ford-bronco.html Not that that's what your looking for, but the date captured might be a clue as to when it happened, and which backup might still have it.

Btw Pepe, where's the Ford Farm? I don't see your sig anymore. Just the SM logo. I had to change mine to update for the http vs https thing.

Yo Pepe`,

Here it is in full, 18 pages with pics in Ford Bronco Forum > Bronco Discussions > Technical Write Ups > Installing SUMMIT Shorty Headers on a 1989 Ford Bronco

Al, all I can see from that link is the "Invalid Thread specified" page. Maybe there is some switch thrown that allows mods to see it while plain ole FSMs like me are locked out. :shrug

Yo Ken,
Thanks!
I didn't see any restrictions. An Administrator may be able to view restrictions.

I've been seeing the updated sig forever, with no problem but I checked and sure enough, the HTTP vs. HTTPS issue was there. I just tried to update it, so hopefully that works now. Thanks for the heads up. I had no idea. :beer

I have to agree. IF there's a cookie issue, it's hitting too many "regular" members so there's either something corrupted or there's a permissions issue, that jives with the error msg. Being retired Admin, my permissions should be just about as open as any "regular" members can be. I just tried Al's link and got the same error msg. page as I got with all other attempts to access. :shrug

I may have started that thread but over a few years, it grew into so much more and had been a help to many over the years. Hate to see it get dicked up like this.

Try it again guys

The word "install" or "installing" clashes with a site security feature. Since the title of threads is part of the site URL's, the word is recognized by the security system which thinks it's a command and slams things shut.

I removed that first word, making the title "SUMMIT Shorty Headers on a 1989 Ford Bronco". If you still get the error, let me know

Appreciate the fix. Not a great security function trigger on a site that's all about "installing" stuff all the time, all over the place though.
Must have been a fairly recent addition, as I know I've looked in on that thread within the last year, at least.

Don't get me wrong... I don't care about the title of that thread. I'm concerned about other threads being falsely blocked, past or future ones.

Let us know if you see any other threads effected by this.

Just to clarify, you'd like us to let you know if we see any other threads that we cannot see. :toothless

Seems like there has to be a better way.

Can we do an automated delete of the word install or replace all with a synonym?

Apparently it would include installing , installation, installs , installment, installed,
etc.

Can any non-administrators or moderators view the above hot links?
