Indoor Rust Bullet

Well, it's not even close to the required 50* minimum temp outside, so I moved all operations indoors.

Katie is down in Florida, so she'll never know.

Cleaned it in the bathtub.

Had to sand it outdoors, but brought it back in for some rust bullet. The 1st coat is on the outside, I'm just letting it dry, so I can flip it over in do the inside.
I'll prolly have to leave it with just 1 coat on the outside, til it warms up outside, and I can put down some durabak.
I should be able to Herculine the inside soon. I think I'm gonna cheat, and just herculine the parts that are exposed when the interior panels are on. The whole thing will be covered in RB tho. It's kinda ghetto, but then again, so am I.:thumbup

You'll see the end results, hopefully by the end of next week. I'm waiting on my pass side fender. All three parts will be going on at the same time.

And, I only get in trouble with Katie, when I get caught. Luckily she hasnt discovered my supermotors account.:thumbup

Well, I'm not sure if brave is the right word. I've been exposed to enough stuff, I'm sure cancer is in my future regardless. Oh well, you gotta go sometime.

I've been using the automotive stuff the whole time. I have a gallon and a half sitting next to me, ready to be applied to my exterior.

Ya, everyone I've talked to with their customer service has been top notch in my book.:thumbup
So how did you get the stench out of the house? I thought for sure she'd smell it the second she got back!
I was thinking about using some on the inside of my gooseneck stock trailer.
It has some surface rust starting on the lower portions of the metal.
If I understand correctly, I can just paint this right over the exsisting painted
metal that is there and it will stop the rust from spreading and prevent future
rust. All I have to do is get all the loose stuff off and paint it with two coats.

Ya, just take the loose stuff off, and scuff the paint to give it something to adhere too...It doesnt take much. Then you just wait a couple of hours for the 1st coat to dry, and then apply the second. To light coats are tuff as shit. If you over do it, it'll scuff fairly easy, but it spreads so damn easy, it's hard to over do it. A little goes a really long way.

If you dont have much area to cover, I would start with a quart or less(probably less). Remember, I did my whole interior with a little less the 2 quarts.
I figure if I paint the bottom 2 feet all the way around and both sides of the center gates it will be about 170 square feet. Their website says 1 gallon will do 100 square feet with 2 coats. So I would need 2 gallons. Does that sound about right? Oh yeah sorry about the hijack.

I guess I didnt realize what you were working with. I should have read the whole post:doh0715:

If your figures are accurate, buy accordingly.

Dont worry about the hijack...This thread is old news.
