I was wondering, has anyone tried to swap an independant rear suspension from a newer Ford into thier Bronco. My search did'nt come up with much. Seems like it would be cool & comfy for street use.

Im sure has been done.

As Steve said in this guy's double post over in the tech help forum, the only IRS that could handle a fullsize motor is the IRS in the newer expeditions, which is part of the uniframe, so you'd have to frankenstein the rear end of the expo to the bronco frame, which would be a big mess.

Stoooooopid idea for a trail rig. Too much crap to break. Definitely not worth the effort.

what about taking a 2nd TTB and puttin it in the rear? :toothless

It's bad enough that I chew up two tires at a time, I couldn't stand to sacrifice my rear two for no logical reason or performance gain

That is my opinion, I guess you haven't seen how low the IRS on an Expedition is?

Ford was on crack for going to IRS, they designed it for metrosexuals that need a comfy ride like those Japanese SUVs
