keyless entry question

Yes I searched but didn't quite find the answer I am looking for.

I bought a remote on ebay for my 94 XLT. Is there a way to know for sure if it came with keyless entry from the factory? Is there something in the VIN? The reson I ask is because in the programing instructions is says to put the ignition to RUN or ACC and all the doors will lock and unlock to confirm programing mode. Mine just lock and don't unlock. I am just trying to figure out if that means my didn't come with it. My 94 XLT is an otherwise loaded truck, I would think it would have the keyless entry if it was available, or did they all come with it?

it should be the only gray connector taped to the wires in the area. ill try to snap a pic today if you still haven't found it.

Steve: heres my supermotors of it...

There are a ton of wires under there, I can't find the right one. If you can snap a pic I would really appreciate it!
was already working on it. not an easy place to get a picture.

My wires are a mess under there and I still don't see the connector. Looks like someone must have cut it out :madder

don't know about all that. go to that link above (keylessride i think) and follow the instructions. it will tell ya. or look on Steve's supermotors. i know he has some info on there about it.
my truck dont have that 2 pin plug. it has some avital alarm in it. was that a factory option? I have a ton of relays and wires under there and im not even sure whats what. I tried to find a avital remote but no luck either. it seems they are gone. Id really like to get this working one way or another.

Yeah, but it wouldn't be easy. It would take someone who REALLY knows 12V circuit design &/or electronics.
i have a 94 xlt and did as instructed above, at the correct grey connector and nothing happened. does this mean mine wasnt equipped with remote lock/unlock or could it be a fuse?
Re-read this WHOLE thread & make sure you're working with the right connector. If so, and it doesn't lock, either your RKE module is dead (yes, possibly a fuse), or you don't have RKE.
