I finally got an electric tailgate window and motor from an '89 EB into the tailgate of my '93 EB (yay!) but now it won't go down.

Is there a tailgate switch somewhere that blocks/sends the electric current for the window motor to go up or down?

FYI - I'm not talking about the dashboard tailgate window switch or the turn-key switch in the tailgate. Anyone know what I'm talking about, or am I utterly stupid? :doh0715:

Take a battery back there and hook power to one side of the motor and ground to the other. If it doesn't move try the other way (one way goes up, one way goes down). That way you can tell if it is the motor or not. Or if you don't want to do that you could take a voltmeter and check for power across those contacts and work your way from there. Mine had a rotted wire in the tailgate, once I replaced that from the motor to the plug behind the driver's side taillight I was good to go.
