one site i saw said that the lightnings made about 20 more lbs tq. and 30 more hp, could i get all that with the heads? or would it not be worth it

Im thinking he meant 93-95 lightnings which were 240 hp. and the 5.0 mustang heads are the gt-40.

You act like heads are a minor bolt on.... You think getting a cone filter gives you 5 but heads wont give 30 HP..... those are extremely low #s for what some heads can give.

You can get Ps for like 600 bucks. and I think its more like 45 HP

here you go, mustang efi, trucks do not have a single throttle body design

its got a super charger on it, but I will give and say that it may not be stock.

But the mustang style efi is.!!!

"Mustang EFI" would mean that it was MAF. It wasn't. It was speed density, ie, truck EFI.

They also didn't have superchargers. Not the GenI Lightnings with 351Ws, anyway.

Trust me, just like Shawn already told you. The 93-95 Lightnings got the Speed Desnity / Bank Firing EFI system as the other trucks. A throttle body does not dictate the EFI system. In fact that intake is called the GT-40 which was first used on those trucks.
Mustangs were never Speed Desnity / Bank fire
Mustangs got Mass Air in 88 for Ca, 89 for the US
Trucks got Mass Air in 96 after the Lightning :beer

81bronk- i didnt wanna seem like a punk who thinks puttin on heads is like changing your oil filter, i know it takes alot of work- i guess i was just kinda thinking aloud, my bad:banghead

Not to say its hard either.....

Besides stroking, getting a bigger block and compression its the best natural power adder. You can get more compression from certain heads. Heads from 72-79 definatly arent those heads lol

1984-85 Mustangs were Central Fuel Injected
Which means they had the injectors near the throttle body.

1986-UP Mustangs were Sequentially Fuel Injected
Which means the injectors are down in the intake runners.
Sequential means the computers opens 1 injector at a time


1985-95 Speed Density Trucks Were Bank Fire
Which means the injectors are down in the intake runners.
But the computers opens 4 injectors at a time
