I am looking for some decent Photo editing software, this is what I would like to be able to do:

Move pictures within pictures
Remove dents fom vehicle pictures (not what you think we do fix them but we picture them first)
Remove stickers and writing on winshields
Add text to photos
Copy a hubcap on a rear wheel to a front

Create Banners from Scratch, kind like the sig lines here, mostly for Holidays and specials on our company websites

Create animated for sale signs, or other cartoon like captions etc, nothing moving though.

I don't want to spend more then I have to but if I have to spend I will, right now I get by with windows Paint for some things, and a program called view ahead photo center that came with an old lexmark printer we have.

I am not opposed to some sharware, or even large software bundles that include CAD software becuase that could also be VERY useful and is something I have been wanting for a while.

I know we have a very diverse group here with a decent amount of combined knowledge so I figured I would ask here first for some recomdations, infact it does not have to be the newest versions so if someone here has upgraded and has something they no longer need and wish to possible sell that will help me I will consider that as well.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this and for any help you might provide

The Gimp is what i use. It's half as good as Adobe Photoshop, but it's freeware.

CAD is not bundled into anything, it's an entity of it's own. It's also extremely expensive. There are also i *think* two or three or more, different versions of CAD. Electrical, mechanical, yadda yadda yadda.

and this is just a warning, if anyone (read SigEdBlue) starts posting links to cracked versions, keygenz and torrents, this thread will disappear. Keep it out of the public field of view and i don't care. *HINT*

Who the hell is SigEdBlue? :scratchhe :shrug

:toothless

In a related story:
Pirate Bay hit with legal action -- Four men who run one of the most popular file-sharing sites in the world have been charged with conspiracy to break copyright law in Sweden.

:thumbup

Having said that, The GIMP is awesome. The only thing I can say it can't do as well as Ps, in my experience, is the built-in filters. Those alone are almost worth the cost of Ps....nah, it's not. It's still overpriced. :cry
you're evil twin.

I was reading about that pirate bay story. Scary shit. Sweden don't screw around.

Photoshop is certainly top-of-the-line and will do most everything you want, but it takes some time & a book or two to figure it out.

When and if you decide to break into CADD - I've found Solidworks to be the easiest to learn & it puts out some really nice stuff, too.

I've been earning my keep with CADD & Graphics for just about a decade, now.
I use AutoCAD everyday, but still recommend Solidworks.
I use Photoshop & Coreldraw to put together graphic presentations.

Paintshop Pro is pretty good and it's easy to use. You can get it on Half.com for under fifty bucks.
