I have a np 435 that I just rebuilt completely. In the past I always put a quart of lucas in then 80 90 to fill it up. Should I do this again or just use 80 90

I can't say I have a ton of experience with np435's, but I've only put 80w90 in mine since I've owned it (about 3 years). Seems to work for me, but you'll probably get differing opinions when it comes to oils.

If it makes you feel better, some Lucas definitely won’t hurt. But I think if everything is rebuilt, just plain old 80 90 will serve you good for a decade or two....

I've been using a mix of Lucas and gear oil my diffs and transfer case for years now with no issues, they seem to run cooler and quieter.

I've used lucas once in my life, for a transmission with a lazy valve. I wouldn't put it in anything that's working properly. Some good quality gear lube is all your transmission needs.
