the gun it came with was a 12' one, and i thnk i need a longer one, like 20'.
i dont see a 20 or 25 foot one listed anywhere,
if they do have them
1. will it cause a bigger voltage drop, and welding suffer?
2. should i trade my m25 12' gun in on it for ful price since i have yet to put any wire through it, or use that primarily, and use the 25 footer when needed..... that would be expensive though?
downside to the 20 or so footer would be all the excess line laying around.

the 20' or longer gun will be handy for workin on our taller machinery, as i dont really like the idea of putting the welder in the loader tractor bucket and lifting it into the air with a long tank line extension.

don't bother unless you get a push/pull setup. pushing wire that long will only birds nest. even if it didn't jam up you wouldn't get consistent wire speed....which is a must, and as far as i know you can't get one that long
well, they sell the same gun in a 15'
do you think i can get away with it?
it would only cost like an extra $15 now vs $115 later.......
the extra feet would help considering we have machinery almost 20 feet tall.....
buy stick for the machinery. they're cheap and you can run leads as long as you like. a 3/8 capable mig isn't meant for that anyway. if you would have thought of that first you cound have got a power source like the regency and run a remote wire feed for around the same price as the 251

ya, we have the old stick, but all the machinery isnt 1/2" i mean for smaller repairs and such.
i bought this for my personal use in fabbing for the bronco, zuk, and my other projects.
its just the farm will be using it also as a secondary usage.
no one i know runs over 12' on a machine like that
