I'm contemplating a swap from the 302 to a 400 in my '81. Do the motor mounts (frame perches) need to be changed? Steve83, you have a pic of this in your endless supply of diagrams?

Oh, and I've already been through "I think..." and "I heard..." and I've been through about 30 pages of Search! Please, if you don't know for sure, don't reply.

you should be able to find mounts for that motor. it was an option in some
f150s and f250s.

I know the perches are out there, a buddy of mine has an '80 Bronco that came with the 351M. I'm just not sure if the M-block mounts are different from the 302 mounts. I suspect they are, the M is a pretty big engine compared to the 302, but the two engines using the same perches wouldn't be the strangest thing I've ever seen on a truck.
