It reminds me of an old LTD logo/hood emblem, in a good way. I am sure it looks nice.

Only thing better to me is if was possible to change it to "Made exclusively for Gun Owners" or something along those lines.

Here's a pic with the outer circle cut off and remounted with Loctite 414. The airbox and emblem looks a little out of proportion since it is closer...

I've been thinking about the tinted windows in the topper of the poor T-boned 96 at my local Pull-N-Pray, so I decided to get 'em as I think it's running out of time. I read on here and Steve's SuperMotors page where they're pretty easy to get out, and they were. Took about 5 minutes to get both of them out. Mine were a little harder to get out as the seals weren't as pliable, but sprayed the seal with silicone spray where I was trying to get it started out and that helped. Sprayed and wiped the 96's seals and just used a screwdriver to pry the seal in place on the inside. I saw where some used string to pull it in. That may be an easier way, and I'll probably try it if/when I paint the topper, but it wasn't bad.

I also tried to get the rear window since it is tinted to match, but it didn't work out. I had tried to lower the window the last time with the wires someone else already had sticking out of the tailgate. This time I realized these were wires coming into the tailgate. I found the other end and the window came down. Problem is, when the window was down enough to open the gate, the wires I needed disappeared - oops. The tailgate was jammed on the passenger side, but I finally got it down, then gave up since the window was too far down to unbolt and I couldn't get to the motor wires to raise it up. Junkyard fun at it's finest!

Been having an intermittent issue with my wipers not wanting to stop when I turned them off, so I figured I better look into it. After some research (sorry, can't remember if it was on here or elsewhere) I read it could be a bad connection at the wiper motor causing the park position not being recognized and therefore running on.

Starting at the motor connection, I found a wire that didn't look very good, so I pulled it from the plug, made sure it wasn't completely bad and taped it up. Putting that plug on my Pull&Pray shopping list. Cleaned the connections up and plugged it back in. Tested wipers and they worked as they should.

I've had an intermittent wiper switch and module for a while, so decided to give it a try. I opened up the module to inspect the troublesome solder joints and found them to look good. Removed instrument cluster bezel and the old switch, plugged in the intermittent switch and module and tried it out. Worked as it should! Understanding how fragile the module is, I put some foam weatherstripping on it and found (hopefully) a good spot for it. And, after I got it in it actually still worked. Great little plug & play upgrade. There's been many times I wish I had it.

While I had the cluster bezel off, I installed a new lens I had bought a while back also. Also decided to go with black wiper and headlight knobs while I was at it. Quick pic, but pulled it outside to get better light, so it's on fast idle.

I ran into some heavy rain last Saturday at the cabin and on the way home and my windshield started dripping. I had sealed it with seam sealer before, thinking that would take care of things, and it did for a while...

So on Monday I pulled the trim, dug out the old sealer, cleaned it real good with mineral spirits and acetone. I searched for a good product to use and ended up getting 3M Window Weld. I ordered it noonish and it arrived at 9:30pm.

I had masked around the window and the body to try to contain some of the mess, so I started sealing on Tuesday morning. After I got the trim on and everything cleaned up, I took it for a test drive - no leaks! Of course it wasn't raining, so that helped lol ;)

I meant to take a pic of the window taped up and prepped on Tuesday morning, but I forgot. So here's a pic of it at the cabin.

I put one of the delay wiper modules in my 72 and it worked great and believe it or not it was plug and play except for the washer fluid. That just required moving one wire and then it was good.
Also I like the parking brake!

Good to know they work on early Broncos too. They are a great easy upgrade.

Haha yeah, good catch! My parking break works, but they don't hold as well going backwards. The ground was wet and my SIL parked his Super Duty not far behind me and I didn't want it sliding into it. So it was just for good measure, and it turned out it wasn't needed as there wasn't any pressure on the chunk of firewood.

Changed the oil today. Fresh 10W-30, WIX filter and a bottle of Rislone 4405 Zinc additive for good measure.

Bronco and winch saved the day yesterday. I had a dead tree I was afraid was going to fall on our electric lines, so I decided to cut it down. It was a little dicey as it seemed it would want to fall the wrong way. But, the weather seemed favorable with a slight breeze going in the right direction. I notched it in the direction I wanted it to fall, then when I made the felling cut it closed it up. Bronco to the rescue. I pulled the winch rope out all the way, hooked it to a sling 5 or 6 feet above the cut, then pulled it back the right way. Close call as it surely would have taken the wires out if it would have went the other way. It was about 16" across. Thankfully it also didn't fall on the rope.

Put the Wagon Wheels and Wranglers back on today. Didn't want to get the Alcoas messed up if I were to get caught having to drive in that nasty salt, which I have been able to avoid thus far. Not real pleased with the beads I used in the Alcoas/Coopers. They weren't real consistent. I had to pull off the interstate once to check lug nuts because one was jumping around so much. They were all tight and when I got back on they were fine. I do like the Coopers though.

Not a very good pic, I was too sorry to stop while I was out and get a good one.
Edit: swapped the shot with a little better one.

gotta love it when you can actually put your tools to use... you know, the ones that you weren't really sure when you'd use it but you knew it would come in mighty handy if you did. that kinda thing! LOL

Yeah, the first time I used the winch, but I probably wouldn't even have tried to cut the tree down if I hadn't had it; and would have been in a jam if I had lol!

When you get ready to put them in, try warming them up by laying on the driveway on a warm day or defroster on the dash on a cool day.
Get some 1/4" or 3/16" cheap cotton rope from walmart and wrap it in the groove of the rubber with the ends at the bottom in the middle. I like to tape them to the inside of the window to hold them out of the way. If they are pliable I just use foamy glass cleaner, but silicone works good too, just more messy to clean up.
Put the glass on the outside centered all the way around, then while someone puts pressure on the outside, pull the rope each way a little at a time and end in the middle at the top. We used cotter pin pullers with the end rounded off to pull the lip over if needed.

I hope mine comes out as nice as your when done!!

Haven't done a lot to Ol' Faithful except drive and use it lately. I noticed it cranking slow on a couple cold starts recently, so I bought a new battery today. The battery I replaced was in it when I bought it in February 2016 and had a shipped date tag of 2/16, so it was new at the time. It was a Group 65 size, so that's what I replaced it with.

I did some computer work and Wally World showed not available. Advance Auto showed a Die Hard (not even a Group 65) for over $200, O'Rielly's brand was $180, Tractor Supply was $110 for their brand, Rural King showed their brand for $90, so that what I went with. It comes with a 2 year free replacement, 72 month overall warranty. So we'll see how it goes. When I got there, I found they also had a 60 month Group 65 for $70, but I went with this one: Rural King Select Automotive Battery - 65-72

Edit: I just went out to check on the battery. I had topped off the cells with distilled water and put it on my 4 amp charger to make sure it was fully charged. I pulled the caps off and found one of the cells wasn't bubbling at all! I guess that's what I get for going with a cheaper battery. Guess I'll be going back to Rural King.

Update: I took the battery back and exchanged it. The young lady used a load tester on it and it failed. I thought on the way out I should have had her test the new one, but didn't go back in. I put it on the charger and all the cells are bubbling on this one.
