This is my first bronco. Its a 1986 with an inline 300, NP435 transmission and a NP208 transfer case. This is the work my dad and I did to it a few months ago. We originally had a quadrajet on it but it went bad and I wanted to get rid of that chevy junk anyway. Topped it with a holley 470cfm off road truck avenger with a manual choke and since then have added a DUI distributor. The transmission and transfer case are both currently pulled and awaiting rebuild ones from smart parts auto. I'm going to pull the engine too and have it rebuilt with screw in rocker studs and probably the 252H comp cam or something similar with brute off idle torque. Down the road after that will be 33x12.5 tires and a 4 inch lift with probably a coyote brown paint job and hopefully some beefier bumpers and winch. Currently trying to price some gears and limited slip differentials. I use to have a 2008 VW Rabbit but after major damage to the transmission and expensive routine maintenance decided to just go old school with a push rod engine and a carb on top and I'm loving the decision every day.

Lucky you. Those 300 engines are almost indestructible. Can't wait to see the end result.

So here's a dyno run with it. Its been a bit of a nightmare. The engine builders didn't put the dowel rod into the head and cost me another $650 because I thought something was wrong with it and took it to a tuner. The tuner also didn't tune the carburetor and apparently no one in this city knows how to so that big beautiful brand new holley has to sit on the bench for now. The transmission cover on my newly rebuilt transmission leaks so I get to fix that. I know I sound very negative but I'm actually really happy because now I'm back up and running. I'll be leaving within hopefully 2 weeks and I'll be off the grid for a few months so if you have questions or comments please spit them out.

Here's a short video of my progress.
