I found that while replacing the tailgate and wireing.
My trucks days are numbered. The body "looks" ok, but the rust is at important structial points. Can't even make a good trail rig out of it, unless I do a NAMELESS copy :thumbup

That's my plan :D
Last time I went mudd'n, there was mudd on the carpet by each seat belt tensioner......
But I never sank the truck :duh
So the mud got flung in rust holes :mad: :banghead

Here is why I replaced the tail gate:


Here is a picture from behind the rear wheel, most people cut this off. But If I cut it off, the sides of the truck will fall off!

rip everything out of it & get the whole thing incased in rhino liner! just kidding. that sucks to here about it. ive been very lucky in the rust department. 1 paint bubble in the always popular spot rigt behind the rear tire.

That's not fixable :twak
It's cheeper to get a rust free desert body from AZ / TX / CA, ect.

WOW!! I thought mine was rusty! :shocked
Though she's getting worse each year. I'm afraid to rip out the carpenting by the front seats.........the carpet behind the rear seat has been out for a couple years.
But I do have some bad spots in the bed, kinda weak where the spare tire carrier used to be mounted.....just dont stand or sit on that spot. LOL

Cut out the bad and weld in the good.
