The v-belt saginaws are getting tough to find because most of those vans have been scrapped already. I find maybe one for every 10 serpentine versions.No such luck anywhere near me, might just have to stick with an oem replacement for the time being

$600 seems like a lot, but I'm glad to see them make it available.
This has not been my experience with a used jy sag pump. Greatly improved performance.

That is only for serpentine belt setups. His 84 needs a v-belt setup which is completely different other than the pump itself.How about this?

Could you take the v belt pulley from the factory pump and put it on the Sag?

I dont believe the ford C2 pulley will fit on the shaft of the Saginaw. Im not 100% sure on that though. The other issue is belt tension. The serpentine setups use a tensioner pulley elsewhere in the accessory drive. The V-belt setup uses a tensioning slot on the PS bracket itself.
But yes, with some ingenuity and the right tools, you could make a bastardized setup. Essentially getting back to the roots of hotrodding: making what you got work.
Everything desolate sells is overpriced. They kind of suck imo.

Does desolate even make their own stuff? One of them gofast companies sells a lot of other people's stuff.
I think all of those companies are overpriced. Especially when they are pumping out 100s of parts at once on a plasma/laser table. Not that their parts are crap, because they are not. Hell i bet Bill Carlton would build a custom 4 link suspension for nearly the price of some of the middle priced solo stuff.
Not that i wouldnt take your lift kit in a heartbeat...
They do make some of their own stuff but not all. It’s just overpriced. They even raised their prices again recently. Their customer service sucks and that’s the biggest reason I bought solo instead of them. They were rude and cocky. They make stuff just to make it. Example is their fabricated Saginaw pump bracket and their $1400 rear sway bar. Then they resell cheap stuff like the moog ambulance tie rods for $500 and the Mevotech ball joints for double what they are on rock auto.

The stock pump was not amazing at turning 33x12.50s. The sag turns 35x12.50s easily while sitting still on pavement. Digging thru old threads it looks like I installed that jy van pump over 15 years ago. No rebuild & still working strong. That's my experience. I plan to install sags on my 73 (35x12.50s) & 79 (undecided on the tires yet).
Preparing to do a hydroboost brake system most articles I've read seem to recommend a sag pump.

Hopefully you can see these, if not let me know and I'll get better pix. Not sure why there's 3 pages, and several items are duplicated on all 3 pages. Maybe blue could give a better explanation if you need since he order the parts.

From what blue has said, yes. The bracket is the same for all the v belts.
for now I’ve got a 302 but I’m going to be rebuilding a 351w to swap into it
