Hope everyone had a great Christmas!!! I am just about ready to drop a 460 in my '85. My question is about getting things buttoned up. Which radiator to use, a heavy duty 351W radiator or a 460 F-250 radiator? (I have a C6 tranny)

Also I am debating on what engine mounts to use. I am getting perches from a F-250 so should I go with stock 460 mounts or use 390 mounts. I am worried that using the stock 460 mounts with the insulators the motor will set up too high in the perches and have problems clearancing the firewall. The 390 mounts are much thinner and therefore the motor wouldn't sit so high in the perches. I've thought about going ahead and lifting the body 2" just to give the 460 a little more wiggle room.

Also, I am going to replace the trans. mount. Any suggestions? Poly or stock?

Thanks in advance for the help :thumbup

well guy,

I am just finishing up my 460 efi swap into my 1980 bronco and I can tell you best mounts to use are the l&l mounts... they will let your 460 sit at the height on your current engine so your tranny will line up correctly as well as position it the correct distance front to rear... I found that the f250 mounts put the engine to far either back or forward in the engine compartment, I can't remember which... good luck in your swap. :drinkbud
