Misfiring/Pinging due to Improper Spark Plug Wire Routing for 5.0, Caused by Crossfire between #7 & #8 Spark Plug Wire by mightyautoparts.com
specifically: "The firing order of the
mentioned engine is such that number 7-8 cylinders
fire in succession. Routing those plug
wires in parallel will result in induction cross-
firing. In addition to a miss, spark plug electrode
deterioration of #8 plug will result..."
I have a few pics in my SF site;
best ones of distr routing:

http://www.supermotors.org/vehicles/registry/showmedia.php?id=141160

etc.
Al S's label:

chk #8 for any fouling

& again, when you post the same Q in different topics or sections it makes it diff to know which t\section you'll check again for info

if you have the stock intake it is easy. it is cast into it. the cylinders are 1234- pass side and 5678 drivers side they will be listed on the intake runners.. then the firing order is listed just behind the thermastate housing. and most fords go counter clokwise...mike
