Follow these steps for sure!

1. Buy a case of beer
2. Grab a bucket out of your garage.
3. Grab a beer out of your fridge
4. Fill it with large bills and a few rolls of quarters.
5. Go out to the boat and chuck the contents of the bucket at the boat.
6. Stand in aw.
7. Drink Beer
8. Repeat steps 3 through 7 until you are out of beer
9. Go inside
10. Repeat entire procedure every payday

When was the last time it ran? does it actually float?
If it has been a few years a rebuild on the engine maybe in order, but if it doesn't float kinda pointless, I would take it to a launch and see if it floats, once you get that established go from there make sure everything works and functions porperly. Trims, gears, prop in good shape.

By some muffs, hook them to your hose, place them over the water intake, and start it and let it run a while. You are only running the anti-freeze out so it doesn't pump into the lake.

You also want to check the exhaust manifolds for pipe plugs. These are sometimes left out to drain the block and exhaust, and to make sure anti-freeze is making it throughout the engine.

Other than that check the oil, and your all set.

Edit: On the 4.3's there may be a pipe plug in the block instead of the exhaust manifold.

I would pour some stabil anti ethanol fuel treatment in the gas as well.
