I just dropped my rear end cover and now I can't get the plug off, its on a '95 E.B. with a 8.8 Rear End, I was using an 3/8' extension but it didn't fit to tight, so I tried using just the 3/8' ratchet end, does anyone know if they have the right tool made for this plug, I am worried that I might strip it out more!

P.S. I have it soaking right now with some wd40 type stuff!

Did you drop it, then try to take the plug off? That's kind of bass ackwards. Just let it soak in some penetrating fluid, and try it again.

Yes there are square drive sockets available . At least I know for sure snap-on has em .
I could not remove a plug once because someone had rounded it out and boogered it all up . So , I made a drain and a fill port right on the cover . Tacked couple 1/2 " nuts top and bottom of cover and used bolts as plugs . Just be aware of the recommended capacity of oil and the length and location of the bolt .
One more thing you could look into is removing sensor and refill there . Never done it myself but looks possible . Good luck .
