NEED & WANT ASAP: timing cover & water pump bolts

475 Views 9 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  BRONCO2BCN
I'm in need of all of the timing cover and water pump bolts for my 94 5.0 Bronco. The bolts pulled were all nasty, corroded and one of them snapped too.

Looking for a decent, complete set that is still useable and will NOT break or snap heads once torqued to factory specs.

I know ARP makes a set for the 5.0, but from what I have heard, the ARP set does not have the correct length bolts and this has been an issue for many who have ordered that set.

PM me with what you have and PLEASE send me pictures of the hardware, as I don't need junk hardware like I already have... ;)

Hey cuz you can get black oxide bolts fron ace hardware. Just take the old ones and match them up. Thats what i did.
Is the cover the same from 93 van that had a 351W? If so I can try to pull it. One bolt has already broke when I was pulling the brackets from it. bob
I replaced nearly my entire set of bolts using grade 8 bolts from ace hardware. I sat in the aisle for over an hour matching all of the lengths and diameters, but was worth it to have some extras on hand.
It should fit the serpentine drive belt timing covers are all a reverse rotation water pump IIRC. the v belt covers will not fit. They are standard rotation. I forgoto mention the black bolts fron ACE I got were grade 8 hex with the flange.
Did you guys also replace the stubs that go threw the timing cover, water pump and accesory drive bracket with bolts? If so what did you use as a spacer between the accesory bracket and water pump?
Yeah Jer I did. I didnt need spacers. I just used what I had on there before just minus studs. Oh. i have vbelt youre serpentine....sooooo my setup may not apply to yours then.
i got my replacement bolts at carquest. they were exactly what i needed.

I'm having a hard time picturing the whole acesory drive bracket. I did replace the stubs that went through the timing cover and water pump. The bracket that attaches to the power steering pump got new ones as did the belt tensioner but iirc that last one didnt bolt into the water pump.

I was working on a 460 motor, that would be a little different.

I was just digging into it, but gives you an idea of what Im talking about.
