Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a 1988 Ford Bronco 302ci 5.0 with a 4 inch lift (no idea what brand lift) Needs some work on the steering to get some slop out and has a small amount of rust. Looking at replacing the steering shaft because the threads at the end are stripped in two areas and because the Ujoint will turn by hand about two inches in either direction. Also looking at replacing the Gear Box, Tie Rods, Power Steering Pump. Has about 2-4 inches of play in steering wheel itself even when in the locked postion and also has very loose steering while being driven. Havent tried to adjust the screw on the Gear Box yet because I havent found a detailed picture of the gear box and screw.

Welcome to FSB, VA is one of my favorite places, a few years ago I got a great deal on a pristine throttle body and radio dash bezel from a guy there parting out an 86 and the price was fantastic...

Self Help sources for anything you need to know to help keep your rig rolling:

FSB ~ "search" navigating yields tons of threads/pics regarding Mods, Fabing or mechanical problems from all of us here first hand so see if you can fix it yuorself fisrt and then post if you're stuck...make sense..?

Hanyes Repair Manual ~ ASAP, it's the bible here when you're having trouble so we're all on the same page when you post for help.

www.broncolinks.com ~ an abundance of tech info for bronco's and F150's.

www.fordfuelinjection.com ~ assumes EFI vehicles, FREE fault code numbers, code explanations and vehicle self test connector location for self diagnosis, requires an OBD-I or II Ford Code Reader with diagnostic book, currently around $29.99 at O'Reillys or most other stores and worth every penny IMO or there's a code "pulsing technique" using a paper clip for pulling fault codes....lol lol PITA...IMO.

www.supermotors.net ~ FSB sister site joins FREE with tons more info like videos and pics to help fix your broken rig...

I live in the Hickory Section of Chesapeake. I would really like a hand whenever you have time. Im in the process of trying to get it to pass inspection right now. It failed on front brakes and rotors, and too much play in the steering. I included links for pictures of Tomb Stone below.
