OK, Mark and I are going to be building a bronco on Overhaulin' next week and they are talking about our http://broncograveyard.com getting 10,000 extra visitors from each airing! We already require a dedicated server so I needed to either upgrade the hardware or upgrade the site. I decided to do both... For the hardware we now have a dedicated server with a 3gig processor using 2gigs of memory with an unlimited pipe at Server Beach (Pier 1).

For the site itself, I built it 4 years ago when I didn't know crap about PHP or MySQL so me and 2 other guys have spent the last 2 months since the filming of Overhaulin' working non-stop, completely Overhaulin' our website with faster queries, leaner code and less bloat. We have full blown user account with a save cart feature, better order status, multiple saved addresses, and great password retrieval. The catalog gets a slight interface cleanup with a better search tool and some other minor features. Oh and if you come to our site from this one and place an order we will know and CB gets credit for it! On top of that it got a face lift with a new logo and a new design that is XHTML compliant so get ready bronco community!!!

Ok, phase 1 is done and will launch tomorrow... What I need is feedback on phase 2... what do you want to see? On the books now are user features that will tie into your user account so you can manage everything in one place. Killer readers rides vehicle registry so we can see what trucks you have for order reference to make sure you get the right parts and so you can check out everyone's trucks. The readers rides will also evolve into the best classifieds system on the net for broncos and bronco parts. We are also talking about a RMA system for when you need to make a return and best of all a gift registry so your friends or loved ones can put your email address into our system and see what you want for your birthday or Christmas! Also in the mix is talk of a product user reviews/ratings system to help people make more informed purchases.

Anyway, even though some people might not like our site I get constant emails from people loving it so before anyone else can catch up we are raising the bar. When you think about how difficult it is to find parts, consider that we have over 10,000 different products. If anyone can suggest a way to make it easier to browse the catalog please let me know! I may be interested in a few user testers too that have some time to dedicate to this tonight. Additionally, ask and you shall recieve... your talking directly to the head programmer.

Oh, and make sure to re-signup for our new mailing list... there are going to be weekend only specials and full order discounts that will only go out to this list: http://groups.google.com/group/bronc...d/boxsubscribe

Thanks,

Dana

I like the site, customer service could be better (but that's not a design issue). I got a pretty brisk brushoff calling for a part on my truck.

I like the setup, and can't wait to see the new look.

thanks for the update Dana,

Hundreds of us here on FSB have bought from JBG. Website was good before.

I have to agree with the comment above about customer service when you call to check on an order. Myself included, the person on the other end seemed very disinterested and not willing to be very helpful, which of course is not a good thing for you guys when we are trying to give you money in exchange for parts. Would think that if these folks at least like ford trucks, gettin' to play with parts all day certainly isn't a bad thing. Just wish they had a little better attitude.

I agree with the customer service, but also have to add to the technical service side. When i bought the motor for my auto E4OD, i had some wiring questions. I e-mailed JBG, and basically got a long winded "I don't know".

That's when i came to this site, and got more information than i ever needed, and a little flaming too, but that just makes us that much more of a family.

Yes it is an Early Bronco, can't talk about what we did to it but it will be a good show. April 18th at 9pm on TLC, make sure to sign up for our mailing list too for updates on Ted Nugents Bronco Build feature and the Overhaulin' feature.

Thanks for the feedback, your right though... all I can do is build a good enough site so you don't have to call in ;)

Sweet, my calender is marked. Wish it were a fullsize though. Hopefully ya didn't do anythin' like they usually do like lower it and put on hge chrome rims with rubber band tires. That would make me cry.

I've bought a lot of stuff from JBG and have had pretty much all good experiances and have recommended JBG to friends. I also like the site and have spent a lot of time browsing it.

Only thing that would be a nice change is if an internet order is placed and it turns out the part is on backorder, it would be cool if you guys could email or somehow contact the customer to let them know.

I was very happy with what I bought and the shipping time i got my order 5 days after I ordered it. the only thing that bothered me was I wasnt able to track it seeing as Im not home much and would have liked to know when my stuff was dropped off I guess it was sitting there for 2 days. but Other thatn that there are no complaints awesome stuff I would have kept my 89 If I knew JBG was around.
