Well actually it's all done now. I've been tuning it up the last couple days trying to get it running perfectly. I don't have any alternator brackets cuz I lost them when I tore it down so now i'm searching every junk yard for them, seems they all ran out :duh. So the last few weeks i've been driving around on just the battery and then charging the battery in my garage between outings. I just couldn't wait to drive it.
It's a 400 modified, all stock except for an Edelbrock performer cam, intake and carb. It runs very strong, I was very surprised how well it turned out. The truck has 3.73's and a detroit locker in the rear. So far the only thing I want to do is level the front out then redo the exhaust. I want dual exhaust but I don't want to run a pipe under the xfercase crossmember so I might modifiy the bracket to be able to run the pipe straight through and also put a crossover pipe in it as well.
I almost thought about putting a chevy BBC in it, a 396 to be exact, just thought it would be cool. A buddy of mine has a 454 in his 77 2WD F150 with a 700R4. Here's proof...
I really didn't feel like taking that long cuz I wanted to drive it now, I also didn't have a welder at the time but I have one now, so maybe i'll do something different when I get another truck but this one stays like this. I do want make this truck an AC truck. I want to make it look factory, modifiy the dash and firewall and install all the factory brackets and what not, hopefully that will get done by next summer.
