I've a thread in general repair but now I'm stuck. My starter is stuck on.
The engine fires but the starter won't stop. With the key in the ignition in
the run position, not the starter fire position, engine and starter spin. I've
had to disconnect the battery to stop the starter from burning up. If I insert
the key into the ignition the starter spins. I gave the solenoid a whack but
no change. Anyone out there had similar problem? Is this wiring, solenoid,
ignition switch, what? Now I can't even drive my bruised big blue Bronco to
the shop. Help!

i've had that happen before.
I ended up changing out the solonoid, the battery and all the cables and the altenator then it worked out ok....also if you dont have enough juice for some reason it will do the same thing even after you turn the key off....check your battery and the altenator. oh and make sure the solonoid has good contact where its bolted for ground that will also cause it to act up...

LMC Truck offers a power kill switch to mount on the inside(passenger) fenderwell, anybody got any thoughts on that. Might be good idea to have that installed in case of any electrical problem, just hit the kill switch save melting any wiring.
Thanks

Sometimes, if you tap on the relay with a mallet/screwdriver handle/etc, it will "unstick" it. This is enough to at least get you to the parts store to replace it. Just for future reference. I think a lot of Bronco guys carry a spare one, too, since they're so inexpensive.

So does Wal-Mart now. It's the chinese Cal-Term knock-off of this Hella switch, and they want $10 for it. Coincidentally, that's what I sell these real Hellas for, WITH the nice wires.
