I guess it is time for me to make the introduction. I have read on here for quite a while and registered 5 months ago, but have still just been reading and looking around. I do not currently own a Bronco but have lusted after them for the last 20 years or so in intermittent cycles. I have gotten serious about actually getting into a FSB now and have a lot of plans in my head for how I want to build the truck once I get one in the driveway.

Currently have a '94 f-150, an '88 turbocoupe with some serious work done to her, and a '74 pinto wagon that was going to be a project but I have lost interest. I've been turning wrenches and building toys for quite some time, but this will end up being my first foray into an off road rig. I have not said anything in the forums until now because I have no practical experience the trail world, so I felt it best to keep my mouth shut and read.

I hope to get into a good Bronco soon, and then I will hopefully have some things to contribute.

Welcome to the site!!! What years are you looking into buying?:toothless
Thanks! I'm looking to pick up an '87 or up, I have a preference of a 351 but a straight (not necessarily pretty) body and a rust free frame and floor board is more important. I had a line on a good one around where I live with some nice parts in it, but he was asking more than I could scrape together yet and wouldn't come off it cheaper or with some trade. I had another possibility for one that was perfect and he wanted a truck, he considered the trade for my truck but the shown miles scared him. Never mind that my truck purrs like a kitten, pulls like it should, looks nice, with everything working including ice cold air... the number on the odometer frightened him off.

Oh, well... I'll get the cash together, buy one outright, then sell the truck to someone that knows 270,500 miles can still be a great truck. I drive it every day!

Craigslist is full of Bronco's these days and lots of good buys to. Keep your eyes open and give it some time you will find your Bronco..:beer

There is a few things to watch for though with the 87 and 88 year models. Like flange hubs. 302 Broncos will have OD trans in them where the 351w will have a C6. Any other combo someone did a swap. 87 351w Broncos will be carburetor where the 88 is Fuel injected.:thumbup

I have been watching Craigslist for a while now on it... I have been making calls and have looked at a few. Right now I have a possible trade set up for my truck.. but that is only if his Bronco is in as good of condition as my truck. i wll not trade down in value. If I have to I will wait a bit longer, buy a Bronco, fix whatever is wrong with it, then sell my truck.

I have finally bought my first Bronco!
Red and white '89 w/ a 302. The body is a little roughed up, but it is not bad. The tire are bald and have some knots and lumps in them so the ride is rough as hell... I need to put some rubber on it. It needs motor mounts, and I need to go through a full tune up and some fluids... The interior is Porno Red and in really great shape other than the arm rest hanging waaay lower than it should. Pics later

Already in the plans. I am building the list of things I know I need to purchase, the things I have to look at to see, and the things I want.... in that order.

This afternoon it is getting FordRacing wireset, Motorcraft cap and rotor, motorcraft plugs gapped @055, oil change with an FL1A instead of the FRAM crap that is on it, Motorcraft air filter, check timing, vacuum checks, it has seafoam sitting in the engine now and some in the tank, windsheild wipers, a wiper slector knob, a coolant flush and replace, and tire pressure adjustment.

Motor mounts and tires are the first thing on the list for replacement and the body bushings are probably getting ordered at the same time... I will also be getting the full window and weatherstrip kit... it needs it.
